TWISTED LOVE: Concert Reports

Lilly's Report

I'm from Holland and I went to RiP the full three days with 8 others (family and friends). It was a 6/7 hour drive, but it was all totally worth it of course. Well I could babble alot about every thing I saw, but I guess I'll just skip that and bring you right to Saterday, the day I saw Dir en Grey <3.

They were supposed to play at 14:20 that day and before them would be one other band, Wednesday 13. Of course me and my friends wanted to be in the front row so we decided we'd go see them aswell and we took off to the festival grounds at about 11.00. When we got there, the fences were still closed, but it was already quite crowded, so we just stood there and waited...and waited and waited. >.> and so we waited some more while the security people were eating and drinking and doing whatever in front of our noses while we were being more and more squashed against the fences >.< We stood there about 2 and a half hours before they finally let us on the grounds and it was the scariest thing I ever participated in. The fences were removed and everyone just stormed forwards @__@ it was so scary. My best friend got squashed and she cried and screamed, but none of the security helped her :/ Her arms were all bruised and stuff. It was scary. Anyhow we ran as if our lives depended on it and we got a quite nice spot at the left side of the stage. ("I think we'll have a good view of Kao and Totchi!")

First Wednesday 13 played, I quite liked them but I was distracted when I saw Dir en Grey walking around there @____@ and later they were gone again but then I spotted Kazu, the bassist of Kagerou and also Shizumi, their drummer :D. I made some pics of them and mostly stared at them, haha.

So, after that all these Japanese people got on the stage to set things right and stuff and I got more and more excited and then....they entered the stage. The first person I saw was Shinya (and that was about the only glimpse I caught of him >.<). The whole crowd went insane and they started to play. They all looked so perfect. I loved the way Toshiya looked most of all I think.

Anyhow, I hardly saw Shinya at all and not much of Die either. That kinda sucked. Kyo ran off to the right side of the stage once, but not to the left side were I was and it made me kind of sad, heh. After a while Kyo took off his jacket thingie and everyone went even more insane (including me ofcourse.). I liked their playing and I thought they were pretty good live, although the whole 'show' was a little disappointing I personally thought. They hardley interacted with the audience at all. Kyo mutilated himself, as usual >.< wich made me feel a little sad, but yeah I'm weird like that.

Kaoru did the most interacting with the fans and I loved it as he was in front of my nose =D. I made some quite nice pics and I screamed my head off during the whole show and it was awesome nontheless. Afterwards we saw Shizumi walking around and we asked for it autograph *hugs it @.@* it was so cool >.< We also got the autograph of the bassist of Wednesday 13 :) He was really nice, and oh! Their guitarist wore a Diri shirt :D. We waited there a while as we hoped to catch a glimpse of Diru ofcourse, but alas, it seemed they had already left. I later on bought the last Diru shirt at the festival booth and I was really happy :D.

My friend and I had a big discussion about how we thought Kagerou was alot more interacting with the audience then Dir en grey, but they were on the smaller stage so I guess it was a bit easier for them. And i had the feeling they just didn't really felt like they fit in. I can understand that all too well. I mean it was there first time in Europe and everything. But we loved them anyway and the rest of the day was heaven.

PS. I'd love to get in touch with other people who saw them! Or people who are just Diru fans, because I don't know to much ^^; I also made a little movieclip with my cam, so if anyone is interessted just add me on MSN or something. it's quite big but yeah :]
