TWISTED LOVE: About

It all started...at batsu.org on Monday, April the 4th.

A new topic and big news announced by Free Will Europe: Dir en grey will be playing Germany. After disbelief evaporated, who what when where and why questions poured in; "where can I get tickets, how do I get there, anybody wanna room with me? ARGH! they're never gonna play *insert place name here*" It was like a frenzied dog-pile with coveted Dir information at the bottom. It was around this time that I thought, "What an interesting phenomenom..." and decided to document it.

Slowly, a more complete picture started to build. They'd play a one-man live at Columbia Hall in Berlin, the 3,500 tickets would be sold in part by NeoTokyo, and would cost 37 Euros, ect ect... Some time passed, and people bought tickets, talked about plans, and generally freaked out that THEY WERE SEEING DIR EN GREY IN CONCERT; some after literally years of waiting.

And from there, our story goes to The Berlin Concert..and afterwards.

Now we turn our eyes to Rock-im-Park and Rock-am-Ring. These two festivals were held on June 4th and June 3rd, respectively. Dir en grey played both. At RaR, there was supposed to be a livestream of the concert; many Diru fans logged on to either watch or tape the momentous happening, but were dismayed to find that in fact, Dir en grey had been skipped by the Rockpalaste (the station in charge of recording the show) workers. Immediately, the site's "Chat With the Bands" section was taken over by a group of Dir en grey fans. A cut away of what it was like:

Word about the chat reached some other Diru fans, and they joined and tried to bring the damage done to Dir en grey's image to a minimum. But, after succesfully pissing off most of the chat room, the Administrator set the whole room to +m [no talking allowed].
While this was going on, a few groups tried a more productive way of reaching Rockpalaste: E-mail. After all is said and done, there is no way to know how many e-mails were sent, but judging from activity, at least 700 were talked about on various forums. Rockpalaste's Guestbook was also flooded with people asking for Dir en grey; repeatedly, Rockpalaste workers denied even filming Diru. Although, everyone is pretty sure that they wished they had.

A few hours after the concert ended, rumors began to trickle in. "Dir en grey SUCKED!" or "They did fine..." were found on various German messageboards and websites. We are still waiting for an authoritive live report on Dir en grey and how they performed at both RaR and RiP. When we recieve one, it will be up.
